Privacy Policy

This page explains what information sophiasway.com (“SophiaZW”, “I”, “me”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. In short: I only collect what you choose to send me, I use it only to reply to you or to send the updates you asked for, and I never sell it.
What I collect
When you send a note or an invitation (Contact and Invite Sophia forms): your name, your email address, your message, and any event details you choose to give (for example organisation, date, location or audience).
When you sign up for updates or join the Early Readers Circle: your email address, the page you signed up from, the date you agreed, and — if you tick them — which book editions you are interested in (print, eBook, audiobook).
Basic technical information: like every website, the server receives your IP address and browser details when you visit. The forms use your IP address for about ten minutes only, to block spam and repeated submissions; it is not stored with your message.
How I use it
- To read and reply to your note or invitation.
- To send the occasional updates you signed up for — new stories, the book, events. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To let you know when ordering opens for the book edition you said you were interested in. Telling me which edition interests you is not an order and costs nothing.
I do not sell, rent or trade your information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept and who can see it
- Messages and sign-ups are stored in this website’s own database, hosted by Bluehost in the United States. Only the site administrators can see them.
- Emails from this website are sent through Google’s Gmail service, so the messages pass through Google’s systems.
- The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers when you open a page.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site, and a short-lived cookie may be set if you open a private preview link. Your browser may keep your choices in forms, as browsers normally do.
How long I keep it
- Messages and invitations: for as long as needed to reply and follow up, then deleted on request or when no longer needed.
- Update and Early Readers sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe you stop receiving emails straight away; ask me if you would also like your address removed completely.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, at any time. You can unsubscribe from updates with the link in any update email. To make a request, use the Contact page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent me their details, please let me know and I will delete them.

Some pages link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please check their policies.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
